Electric Vehicle Services
Tires, brakes, suspension, and the everyday maintenance an EV still needs.
Electric vehicles skip oil changes, but they are not maintenance-free. They are heavy and deliver torque instantly, so tires often wear faster than on a comparable gas car. Suspension parts carry that extra weight, and cabin air filters, wiper blades, and brake fluid still need regular attention.
- Tire rotation
- Brake inspection
- Suspension and steering inspection and repair
- Cabin air filter and wiper replacement
Common symptoms
- Tires wearing quickly or unevenly
- Grinding or scraping from rusty brakes
- Clunks or rattles over bumps
- Low 12-volt battery warning or a car that will not wake up
- Weak airflow or odors from the climate system
Because regenerative braking does most of the stopping, the friction brakes on an EV can go long stretches without much use. Combined with winter road salt, that can lead to rusted rotors and sticking calipers, even on a car with low mileage. Periodic brake inspection and cleaning helps.
Our EV services focus on these chassis and maintenance needs, plus the 12-volt battery that powers the car’s electronics. High-voltage work is performed only when it can be done safely and appropriately for the vehicle, and we will confirm before scheduling whether a specific EV repair is something we can handle.
Every appointment is confirmed with a $100 booking/diagnostic payment (not credited toward repairs). If the cause isn’t known yet, the visit is used to diagnose it; the repair is quoted for your approval.
Repair labor is $100 per hour for every kind of repair — engine, transmission, electrical, heating and air conditioning, suspension, brakes and everything else. No higher specialty rate and no minimum labor charge. Labor hours are estimated for your specific vehicle and repair and shown on your written estimate before any work starts; we don’t sell flat-rate job prices.

Questions
Do you work on the high-voltage battery or drive motor?
High-voltage work is performed only when it can be done safely and appropriately for the vehicle. Many EV battery and drive unit repairs require manufacturer-specific procedures, so we will tell you before scheduling whether your repair is something we can take on.
Is there a diagnostic fee for EVs?
Maintenance and chassis work are simply quoted. If a problem needs to be diagnosed first, diagnostic services involve a $100 diagnostic fee, which is not credited toward the cost of subsequent repairs.
Can I use regular tires on my EV?
You can, but EV-specific tires are often designed for the extra weight, lower noise, and efficiency. We can explain the tradeoffs for your vehicle.
